When you’re working on a document in Word or any other program, it’s recommended that you keep pressing CTRL + S every few minutes. How much time do you spend clicking the back and forward button on your web browser every day? Wouldn’t it be great if there were a more convenient way to do it? Oh wait there is! Simply hit ALT + Left Arrow or ALT & Right Arrow on your keyboard to flick back and forth between web pages. Like what you are reading? Hit CTRL + D to save this page to your bookmarks! It works on all other web pages too, providing you’re using Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer as your browser. Want to copy some text into your email or online document without the funky font and garish colours? Simply hit CTRL + Shift + V on your keyboard and the text will be pasted as plain text.

This shortcut also works in the desktop view of Windows 8. Windows + Up Arrow will maximise a window and Windows + Down Arrow will minimise it. All you need to do is hit the Windows + Right Arrow key to snap a window to the right and Windows + Left Arrow key to snap a window to the left.
